Hermes pushes on with Midlands warehouse scheme

Hermes Investment is moving ahead with its 95,000 sq ft Erdington Industrial Park industrial scheme in Birmingham.

The investor plans to redevelop an existing industrial site to create two new warehouse units, one of 40,000 sq ft and the other of 55,000 sq ft, with parking for both. Hermes said the development, signed off this week, will create 80 new jobs.

Until 2012, there was a factory and warehousing unit on the site. This was demolished and the space was then sued as a car park for park tenant Jaguar Land Rover. However, car parking has now been provided at a new multi-story car park located nearby, leaving the site abandoned.
