Sports Direct has hired New Look’s former acquisitions manager Amanda Herron.
The sports retailer has appointed Herron as acquisitions manager with responsibility for the south of England and in particular, London. Her appointment boosts Sports Direct’s property team to three.
As revealed by EGI, Herron left the fashion retailer last month after New Look’s store opening programme slowed during the recession.
Sports Direct confirmed this morning that it has acquired an 80% shareholding in Sir Tom Hunter-backed businesses USC and Cruise Clothing for £7m.
USC has 38 stores across the UK and stores are due to open in Swindon and Newbury this autumn. Cruise has 10 stores in the UK.
