HFC bank targets central Birmingham sites for 50,000 sq ft

HFC bank has targeted sites in central Birmingham including 120 Edmund Street and Imperial House for a 4,645 sq m (50,000 sq ft) requirement in the city centre.

The bank, which is already based in the city, was thought to be looking at the Lloyds TSB building at No 1 Victoria Square but lost out when MEPC completed the purchase of it two weeks ago.

It is now thought to be considering both Brixton Estate’s refurbishment at 120 Edmund Street and Imperial House.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe is believed to be advising HFC. However, DTZ’s Birmingham chairman Geoff Thomas was unavailable for comment.

HFC currently occupies Camden House on Summer Hill Road in the city centre but is keen to upgrade its accommodation. It had considered renting overflow space but is now exploring relocation options.
