Morecambes Art-Deco landmark, the Midland Grand Hotel, is likely to be saved from demolition following widespread interest from potential buyers.
Simon Stevens, head of northern hotels at Knight Frank in Leeds, who is handling the crumbling treasures sale, said: “We are in discussions with a number of interested parties.
“The building is likely to be retained as the interest is mostly in refurbishing it as a 50-bedroom hotel or for a mixture of uses.”
A £10m refurbishment of the Midland began last year but owner Kalber Leisure was forced to backtrack on the plans after investors pulled out.
In August of this year, Lancaster council raised the prospect of demolition as an option to remove the building from Morecambe seafront.
Stevens said the owner is not quoting a sale price and declined to discuss possible values as offers are still being received.
The Midland was used as a setting for the 1990 Hercule Poirot television film, Double Sin, starring David Suchet.
