Highbridge unveils data campus plans

Cobalt Park 570

Highbridge has revealed designs for the final stages of its data centre campus at Cobalt Park on Tyneside.

The two new buildings, DC2 and DC3, received full funding earlier this year, and will accompany the existing DC1 data centre to create a total of 108,000 sq ft of net technical space across 12 halls.

Construction on the two further facilities will commence in the final quarter of this year, and demolition of the former Siemens site is under way to make room for DC2.

Highbridge director Guy Marsden said: “For the first time, we are able to reveal the Cobalt Data Centre Campus in its entirety.

“DC2 and DC3 will commence construction this year and will, alongside DC1, uniquely benefit from an existing power supply drawn directly from the National Grid.”

CB Richard Ellis is acting for Highbridge.
