The 60 residents of the Knoydart peninsula in the West Highlands are planning to buy their “wee bit hill and glen”.
A community buy-out of the 7,082ha (17,500 acre) Knoydart Estate, which is on the market, is be given assistance by the Highland Council. The Council also assisted in the purchase of Eigg by its residents a few months ago.
