After an absence of two years, Hillyers are to start holding sales at the London Auction Mart in the New Connaught Rooms, WC2. Previously, the firm had made the Hotel Russell, WC1, their venue.
“Now that the Connaught Rooms are under new management,” explains Hillyers’ auctioneer, Stuart Oram,” and certain improvements to the suites have been completed, I feel it is very important that we support the London Auction Mart as being the undisputed centre for property auction business in the metropolis.”
The change in venue has been timed to coincide with the firm’s decision to increase substantially their market share of the property auction business in the UK.
“Hillyers are far more competitive with their auction expenses and fee quotations,” claims Mr Oram, “but for far too long we have relied upon regular business from clientele at the expense of going to the marketplace seeking new business.”
Hillyers’ return to the Mart is scheduled for July 11. “We are looking forward to this event,” said Mr Oram.
