Hilton Metropoles come to market for £700m

Hilton-London-Metropole-THUMB.jpegTwo of the UK’s largest hotels have been put up for sale for around £700m.

The 1,059-room Hilton London Metropole, Paddington, W1, and the 790-room Hilton Birmingham Metropole are being bought to market by Edward Wojakovski’s family-owned Tonstate property group, which has owned them for almost a decade.

The Hilton London Metropole is a freehold property on 1.7 acres of land, making it the largest Hilton-operated hotel in Europe.

The Birmingham Metropole is long-leasehold and is located at NEC Birmingham.

Tonstate bought the assets from Hilton in 2006 for £420m.

CBRE Hotels is advising Tonstate.
