Hilton to launch micro-hotel brand

Hilton is launching an affordable micro-hotel brand inspired by hostels. Its first site will be in London. 

Construction on the first 100-bedroom Motto is set to begin in Marylebone in January 2019; Dominvs Group is developing the hotel for a launch in 2020. 

Price will vary “by markets”. Each room will measure an average of 163 sq ft and offer space-saving features including wall beds, segmented shower and toilet stalls and multi-functional furniture.

Motto, which is Hilton’s 15th brand, will target prime cities. 

Hilton said the brand caters to the needs of friends and family visitor groups that “want more” from the hostel market but are limited by current options in the market.
