Hines has promoted Laura Hines-Pierce, daughter of chairman and chief executive Jeff Hines, to become co-CEO.
Hines-Pierce has been senior managing director in the office of the chief executive since 2020, and was previously its transformation officer, working with its co-heads of investment management, the global chief investment officer and the chief executive of capital markets.
Hines described her as having brought “tremendous innovation” to the firm, and added that she would demonstrate “strategic thinking, vision and empathetic leadership” in the new role.
Hines-Pierce said: “The pace of innovation in real estate is finally catching up with other industries; my primary focus has always been – and continues to be – positioning Hines at the forefront of those changes.”
Her brothers, Adam and Matthew Hines, are expected eventually to join the office of the CEO.
