Holiday Inn to run £14.7m hotel on Princes Dock, Liverpool

Holiday Inn has emerged as the operator for the £14.7m four star hotel that David McLean Group is planning to build at Liverpool’s Princes Dock waterfront development.

The hotel is the second phase of Merseyside Development Corporation’s Princes Dock scheme. The five-storey, 174 bedroom development will supply conference facilities, catering for up to 700 people and other leisure outlets.

McLean’s project is backed with £4.5m from MDC. The developer has leased the 0.97ha (2.4 acre) site opposite the Royal Liver Building from the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company. Planning permission was granted for the hotel last month and building work will start on March 3.

Princes Dock’s first phase includes a 6,503 sq m (70,000 sq ft) office complex, where accountant KPMG has taken a 1,393 sq m (15,000 sq ft) prelet.
