Hollywood Bowl strikes with record revenue

Ten-pin bowling operator Hollywood Bowl has recorded a record turnover of £119.2m in the six months ended 31 March.

The record figures were up by 8.1% on the same period in 2023.

The chain said it now had close to 100 bowling centres in the UK and Canada, with a pipeline that it was continuing to build.

The group said it was continuing to drive returns by investing in the quality of the estate through refurbishments and new centre openings. Three refurbishments were completed in the UK during the first half and a further four UK centre refurbishments are expected to be completed in the remainder of the year.

Following the acquisition of Lincoln Bowl in early October 2023, a new site in Dundee is on track to open in May 2024. With openings in Colchester and Westwood Cross expected later this year and four more in 2025.

Chief executive Stephen Burns said: “We continue to work hard to evolve our value-for-money customer proposition, including investment in innovation, technology, and sustainability programmes.

“Our strong cash position means we are well placed to continue to invest in improving and expanding our portfolio, both in the UK and Canada.”
