Home ownership in the UK is at its lowest level in 30 years, according to a study by the Resolution Foundation.
The study found that home ownership reached a peak of 71% in 2003 but has since fallen back to 63%, a level last seen in 1986.
The Greater Manchester area saw the largest drop in home ownership, to 57.9% from 72.4%, illustrating the spread of the housing crisis beyond London and the southeast.
