Home secretary’s father’s ‘ancestral property’ stolen

The father of Suella Braverman, the new home secretary, has fallen victim to Goa’s “landgrabbers”.

Christie Fernandes, from Wembley, north London, has alleged that his “ancestral property” in India have been illegally seized by fraudsters, with some parcels already sold off for development.

His estate in Assagao, dubbed “the Mayfair of Goa”, extends to more than 79,000 sq ft.
