Terry Duddy, chief executive of GUS’s Argos and Homebase chains, plans to have 750 Argos shops and 350 Homebases by 2009.
GUS announced the £1.1bn demerger of its remaining 66% stake in Burberry later this year.
But it has delayed plans to separate Argos and Homebase from Experian.
