Homes England director joins Montagu Evans

Planning and development consultancy Montagu Evans has further expanded its housing capability with the appointment of Kay Burnaby as a partner.

Burnaby (pictured) joins from Homes England where she was acquisitions and partnering director, responsible for overseeing and implementing the organisation’s national land acquisition strategy to increase the supply of land for new housing. She brings almost 20 years of experience to the role. Prior to Homes England, Burnaby worked at Arcadis, L&Q Group, Bellway Homes, and Taylor Wimpey.

In her new position Burnaby will sit within Montagu Evans’ housing sector team, focusing on the delivery of all forms of affordable housing in new developments from large-scale strategic settlements to urban living. She will be working closely with colleagues in planning, advisory, valuation, development and investment.

Will Edmonds, partner at Montagu Evans and head of its housing sector team, said: “Kay is an important addition to our team as we continue to focus on delivering new homes of all types across the whole housing lifecycle. Having operated very successfully in both the public and private sectors for many years, she has a very strong grounding in what registered providers need and value, and a focus on long-term partnerships that wholly aligns with our team’s approach.”

Burnaby said: “This was a very attractive role, to be able to focus on unlocking opportunities to deliver much-needed affordable homes and multi-tenure developments across London and the South East. So many elements of my previous experience are now coming together in one place and, working with a wide range of housing sector specialists, we can bring the right team to each project. I am looking forward to strengthening existing client relationships, building new connections and assembling sustainable partnerships.”
