MEPC has prelet Heathrow Approach, its five-storey landmark office block at Langley, near Heathrow airport. Honda (UK) is taking the 7,432m2 (80,000 sq ft) building as its new national headquarters. A 15-year lease has been agreed at an initial rent of £301 per m2 (£28 per sq ft) with a 7.5-month rent-free period. MEPC forward-purchased the scheme from joint developers John Laing Property and Terrace Hill in August 1998. Construction started in autumn 1998 for completion and delivery to MEPC in December 1999. Honda will be moving into the scheme early in 2000. Healey & Baker and Rogers Chapman acted for MEPC, while CB Hillier Parker represented Honda (UK).
