Hong Kong is now the most expensive city in the world for expats, knocking Luanda off top spot, Mercer’s cost of living surveys shows.
Luanda, the capital of Angola, had taken the number one place for the last three years, but costs there have fallen as a result of a weakening of the local currency due to a fall in the price of oil. London fell five places to 17th spot.
The survey of 375 cities compares the costs of various goods and services, as well as the cost of housing.
