Horse-lovers set to saddle up for rare auction lot

A rare opportunity to buy a fully operational equestrian site will be one of the more unusual lots on offer in Bond Wolfe’s May auction at Villa Park.

The land and stables at Watery Lane, Alvechurch in Worcestershire sit on a 4.5-acre site between the junctions of Lilley Green Road and Weatheroak Hill Road.

Jonathan Hackett, consultant director at Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “This is an ideal site for someone who is serious about riding or would like a site on which to run a small livery business. It’s an unusual lot to go under the hammer, but we are expecting a lot of interest from horse-owning families not only in Alvechurch but also nearby Barnt Green and Rowney Green.

“For those who compete in equestrian events, the site is very well placed for the national motorway network, being just minutes from Junction 2 of the M42, which leads on to the M5, M6, M40 and the rest of the national motorway network.”

The accommodation includes a triple stable block, a double stable block, two hay/straw stores and two feed stores. The site has two road accesses and solar panels that provide the lighting for the site and the power for the electric fencing on the paddocks.

The land is being offered freehold with a guide price of £50,000-£60,000.

The auction takes place on 9 May and will include 110 lots.
