Hotel du Vin finds Stratford home

Hotel-du-Vin.jpegMalmaison Hotel du Vin has signed a long lease to house a new 48-bedroom hotel and bistro in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.

A deal has been struck with Stratford Town Trust on two Georgian, grade II listed buildings on Rother Street, which will be fully refurbished and extended behind a retained original frontage.

The development is part of a wider Rother Street area regeneration in the historic town.

Colliers International advised Stratford Town Trust. Colliers director Tarquin Murray-Holgate said: “Responding to the trust’s vision for Rother Street, we identified Hotel du Vin as an ideal fit for the site and have been working closely with the trust over the past three years to structure a deal that would ensure the appropriate treatment of these listed properties, creating a lasting offer that would enhance the Rother Street area and in turn have a positive knock-on effect on the wider area.”

Hotel du Vin, Stratford Town Trust and partner developers S Harrison will be presenting plans for public consultation in the near future. Further details on the consultation will be announced shortly.

Hotel du Vin plans to be operational by the end of 2016.
