Kumar and Panna Patel have sold the Hotel Gleneagles, in Torquay.
The hotel inspired the television sit-com, Fawlty Towers.
It is thought to have been sold to another husband and wife team from Dorset for more than £1.5m. Christie & Co acted for the vendor.
