Hounslow council and L&G begin talks

Hounslow council has entered negotiations with Legal & General Property on how to redevelop the town centre.

Councillors approved plans to enter discussions with L&G, concerning the site between the mixed-use Blenheim centre and Hounslow High Street.

Council deputy leader Ruth Cadbury said: “L&G has a strong track record of delivering major, successful development and regeneration projects, and we look forward to seeing the plans for the site.”

The agreement provides both the council and L&G with reassurance that the other is committed to redevelopment. This will allow negotiations about the scope of the redevelopment to take place, while a planning application is drawn up and submitted.

The council owns most of the site, and LGP owns a substantial part of the remaining land, as well as the Blenheim centre.
