House of Fraser plans no further store disposals

House of Fraser said it had no plans to dispose of more stores, following Eastbourne, Scunthorpe and Sheffield. It is close to selling one of them and talks are progressing on the others.

It is undertaking a low-cost refurbishment of four stores which will be rolled out in another 15 if successful.

Some £52.3m of exceptional losses plunged the group to a £38.4m loss. Brian McGowan chairman, said there would be no more exceptional write-offs.
