House of Fraser has launched a requirement for a new 1m sq ft UK distribution hub following its takeover by Chinese conglomerate Sanpower.
The retailer has instructed Knight Frank to lead the search for the shed, which is focusing on the Midlands.
It is expected to consider both new-build and bespoke facilities.
The new facility is designed to help House of Fraser cut delivery times for merchandise ordered online.
The company currently has distribution hubs in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Sanpower bought the department store brand last year for £480m and has invested in the business, which has helped deliver sales growth.
Like-for-like sales in the six months to 1 August increased by 6.5% to £574.2m. Online sales rose by 30.8% and now account for 17.5% of the company’s -overall sales.
Almost a third of House of Fraser’s 61 shops are located in the Midlands.
