House price growth accelerated in February, to 0.6% on the month from 0.2% in January, figures from lender Nationwide show.
The increase – the third consecutive monthly rise – means the average house price is now £205,846.
On the year, prices rose by 4.5% against a 4.3% rise in January. Both figures beat expectations.
