House price growth slowest in four years

WEEKEND PAPERS: The latest data on house prices show them rising at the slowest rate in four years.

June’s on-year rise of 2.6% was down sharply from 3.3% in May and was the lowest since May 2013, figures from lender Halifax show.

Uncertainty relating to Brexit and the general election, affordability issues, low wage growth and tighter criteria for buy-to-let investors combined to slow the market, Halifax said.
