House prices are rising at their fastest rate in 14 years.
Figures from Halifax show the monthly pace in price growth of 1.7% to be higher than at any time since February 2007.
More than £4,000 was added to the price of the average home last month, pushing it up to £267,587.
After three months of declining price growth, annual house price inflation was pushed up to 7.4%.
