Savills is forecasting a more than 20% rise in house prices in the east and southeast of England by 2020, but somewhat more subdued growth elsewhere in the country.
House prices are expected to increase by an average 5% next year, slowing to between 2.5% and 3% growth in the years to 2020, Savills said. That would see the average UK house price rise to £240,000 over the period.
In the east and southeast of England, however, growth is predicted to reach 21% and 21.6% respectively. In London growth is forecast at 15.3%.
