A joint application from Taylor Wimpey, Hallam Land and Persimmon for 4,254 homes at Valley Park has suffered a setback, after planners deferred a decision over the consent this week.
The trio are seeking outline planning consent for a new settlement with mixed-use local centres, two primary schools, sports pitches, community and leisure facilities on the 450-acre site in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
The scheme is adjacent to the 3,300-home Great Western Park development, from Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson Homes.
Councillors at the Vale of White House planning committee unanimously opted to defer the application after raising concerns over the impact on local infrastructure.
