Housebuilders take stock market hit following Brexit

Trading on all four of the FTSE 100-listed housebuilders came to a temporary halt this morning as another day of losses shook the industry.

Shares in Berkeley Group, Barratt Developments, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey were briefly suspended for about five minutes following sharp falls in price.

Barratt had the biggest loss of the day, closing at 354.40p, down 19.42% – a loss of 38.63% since close on Thursday.

Berkeley Group was the only FTSE 100 housebuilder with a single-digit loss, at 9.72%.
