One-time Housing Tsar Kate Barker has accused politicians of seeking short-term, popular solutions to the housing crisis, instead of grasping the nettle.
She argues that radical policies for development and housing taxation will pay off in the long-term, but short-termist politicians are unlikely to risk their unpopularity.
“The depressing conclusion is that we will continue to see worsening housing market inequality,” she states.
