The number of home sales agreed in the first six weeks of 2024 is up by 16% on the same period last year, according to figures from Rightmove.
Momentum in the housing market is growing as asking prices jumped by more than £3,000 in February, compared with the previous month, to an average of £362,893.
Year-on-year, asking prices are up by 0.1%. This follows a period of annual falls since August 2023.
