Housing partnership gets nod for Kent scheme

Chartway Partnerships Group and Moat Homes have got the go ahead from Swale Borough Council for the development of 298 new mixed-tenure homes, community facilities and public open space at Frognal Place in Teynham, Kent.

The project will offer a variety of housing options, from one and two-bedroom flats to tow, three and four-bedroom houses, including affordable housing for rent and shared ownership.

The project is committed to exceeding the national +10% biodiversity net gain target by preserving existing landscaping and introducing extensive native planting and ecological enhancements.

Julian Moat, planning director at Chartway Partnerships Group, said: “Receiving planning permission is a significant milestone in our vision to create a thriving, sustainable neighbourhood at Frognal Place that supports and enhances the existing Teynham community.

“This development promises to deliver broad socio-economic benefits to the borough, with contributions exceeding £4.2m to bolster local education, healthcare, youth services, and transport infrastructure.”

Steve Nunn, acting chief executive at Moat, added: “The Frognal Place development is our biggest to date and we look forward to working with Chartway to build attractive, safe and sustainable homes in this area of Kent.

“Alongside the provision of affordable housing where it’s needed, our customers and communities will benefit from community facilities that truly respect and enhance the heritage and character of the area and we are excited to be a part of it.”
