Biotech company Chimeris UK has leased 8,000 sq ft of workspace within The Works at Unity Campus, South Cambridge.
As part of the letting, Howard Group, which operates the campus, is fitting out Suite 5 as a CL2 wet lab. Contractor McManniman has been appointed to deliver the works, which are scheduled for completion in mid-March.
The Works is a 60,000 sq ft office and lab building which has been delivered as the first phase of a wider life sciences scheme.
The building is now fully let and serves as a home to drug discovery and biotech companies, including IONTAS, PhoreMost and Summit Therapeutics.
The next phases of the Unity Campus development will include delivery of three new wet lab buildings of 32,500 sq ft, 31,000 sq ft and 24,500 sq ft, scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2023.
Chimeris co-founder and chief executive Hao Zhang said: “By locating at Unity Campus, we are in a great position to access broader collaborations with others in the golden triangle, where we have already experienced, and would like to contribute to, the best life sciences and therapeutics in the UK and beyond.”
Savills and JLL are joint agents for Unity Campus.
