Savills has been appointed to bring Heinz’s HP Sauce factory in Birmingham to market, after the baked bean and brown sauce manufacturer last month decided to switch production of the famous condiment to Holland.
The closure next year will release 6 acres of brownfield land between the city centre and Spaghetti Junction.
The Aston Cross site and its towering Victorian chimney, which has symbolised Birmingham’s manufacturing economy for more than a century, is expected to fetch around £500,000 an acre.
