Hub and Mark lodge plans for Birmingham BTR

Residential developer Hub and real estate investment manager Mark have submitted plans for a 462-home build-to-rent development in Birmingham.

The proposed scheme at 2 Snowhill Plaza, currently a vacant commercial property, also includes new public realm, ground floor commercial space and resident amenities.

The Metropolitan Workshop-designed, 48-storey building will be close to Snow Hill railway station, Colmore Row and the city’s Jewellery and Knowledge Quarters.

Nick Kemp, senior architect at Metropolitan Workshop, said the design was influenced by the city’s “bold post-war architectural heritage” such as the Alpha Tower and Colmore Row by John Madin.

The companies bought the property earlier this year for £7.75m.
