Huel to shake things up with Milton Keynes distribution hub

PLP has signed meal replacement brand Huel for a 71,000 sq ft prelet at its Milton Keynes logistics development.

Huel is the first tenant at PLP Milton Keynes (pictured).

The premises is one of 10 spaces being delivered within the first phase, which totals 1.06m sq ft.

Units 1 to 4, totalling 849,000 sq ft, have been completed. The remainder, under construction with TanRo, will be delivered by January 2024.

Works on Huel’s manufacturing and distribution facility are expected to complete in December this year.

The supplement shake provider will use it to serve its growing customer base across the UK and Europe.

PLP MK is the first industrial and logistics business park in the UK to be carbon net zero in construction.

PLP bought the park in 2021 on behalf of its inaugural investment vehicle, PLP UK Logistics Venture 1, which is owned by majority investor Ivanhoé Cambridge, alongside Peel L&P, Macquarie Asset Management and PLP senior management.

Huel chief operations officer Ruvan Mendis said: “The site developed by PLP will have some of the best sustainability credentials in the country and reinforces our commitment to minimising our impact on animals and the environment.

“This factory is a key part of our growth ambitions for the future, and over the coming months we’ll be recruiting for a wide range of manufacturing roles to operate the site, taking our overall team of Hueligans well past the 300 milestone.”

Kirkby Diamond advised PLP and Knight Frank represented Huel.
