Hull backs ‘right to grow’ on disused land

Hull is set to become the first city in Britain to give people a “right to grow” on unused council land.

Under the plans, community groups, charities and even small groups of neighbours will be able to cultivate fruit and vegetables on suitable council land in a bid to revive neglected spaces.

The council will now produce a map of suitable land it owns.
