More than 800 churches are to be included on English Heritage’s ‘at risk’ register due to dwindling congregations, money troubles and metal theft.
All are deemed ‘at risk of being lost’ if money is not provided for repairs and restoration work.
The new Heritage At Risk register includes 887 places of worship, 805 of which are Church of England parish churches.
