Foxtons founder Jon Hunt has unveiled plans to build a pair of 25-storey residential towers at a Texaco garage site on Albert Embankment, SE1.
Ocubis, an investment vehicle controlled by Hunt, launched a consultation this weekend to build 200 homes at 36-46 Albert Embankment.
The Make Architects-designed scheme is designed to overcome a string of objections that have killed off previous plans for the site. Lambeth council has rejected five previous applications for residential towers at 36-46 Albert Embankment since 2002.
The latest plans, which have been developed in conjunction with the council, include glass and stone cladding designed to “respond to the conservation area”, according to the consultation website.
As part of the plan, Ocubis is proposing to refurbish one of the Vintage House buildings at 36 Albert Embankment to provide new office space for small local businesses and start-ups.
Ground-floor retail and new public realm are also included in the plans.
