Agency Hunters has taken steps to float on AIM by the end of 2015.
The agent, currently the sixth largest in the UK, is looking to raise £2.5m in the IPO and has changed its board structure as a preliminary step.
Among the changes, founder Kevin Hollinrake will step up from managing director to chairman and Glynis Frew will move from operations director to managing director.
Chief executive Harry Hill, a former chief executive of Countrywide, will move over from a non-executive position on the board.
Hunters operates across the UK from 128 mainly franchised offices. In 2014 the company expanded its network by 31 branches and increased income by 40%.
