Hurricane Katia costs landlords £10m

 


The property damage caused by Hurricane Katia could cost more than £10m, said the Association of British Insurers.


 


The ABI has calculated that commercial and property damage caused from 80mph winds in the UK between 12-13 September will cost landlords more than £10m.


 


A spokesman for the ABI, said: “Previous experience of similar extreme weather conditions has seen insurers having to pay out in excess of £10m to property owners.”


 


Parts of the Northern, Scotland and Northern Ireland experienced extensive building damage.
