Ibstock agrees to sell six brick plants following £160m Redland purchase

Ibstock said yesterday that it would sell six brick plants following its £160m purchase of Redland’s UK brick business, as ordered by the trade and industry secretary. The plants, which will be sold as going concerns, are at: Steerpoint in south-west England, Eldon and Toodhills in the north-east and South Holmwood, Chailey and Funton in the south-east. Redland has agreed to pay Ibstock up to £12.5m in compensation, depending on the sale proceeds.
