Iceni Projects, a planning and development consultancy, has invested in Urban Intelligence, an early-stage business focussed on the digitisation of the planning system.
UI works with clients within the public sector.
As part of the investment, Iceni will partner with UI providing strategic support, allowing it to further enhance its offerings and expand its reach within local government.
Iceni Projects chief executive Ian Anderson (pictured, right) said: “Partnering with Urban Intelligence aligns with our strategy of investing in companies that have a strong vision for the future and a commitment to delivering value to their customers.
“UI has already developed a relationship with a number of local authorities that we’re keen to help them build on.”
UI founder and chief executive Daniel Mohamed (pictured, left) said: “The new partnership with Iceni will allow us to offer integrated services building on our award-winning PlaceMaker platform.
“Their shared belief in the direction of travel within the planning space towards digitisation and their commitment to helping us achieve this is something that we’re really delighted about.”
Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
