The International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) has published The Pan-European Shopping Centre Standard – A Framework for International Comparison.
The report aims to standardise terms and definitions in the shopping centre industry across Europe and increase market efficiency.
Jean Lambert, manager of Global Research at ICSC, said different growth rates in the European shopping centre industry mean there has never been standard definitions for even basic things like the size and type of schemes.
He said growth in the industry makes it vital to set pan-European standards to build a valuable data bank of information for the industry to call upon and use.
ICSC Europe’s national council and major national and international developers and investors provided information for the report.
