Ikea has sealed a deal that could allow it to build up to 1,500 homes in Stratford, East London.
Inter Ikea, the company that owns the Ikea trademark, has bought Sugar House Lane, a 13-acre site next to the Olympic Park.
The development is set to follow the Ikea regeneration model already popular in other countries across Europe. The houses are prefabricated units.
