Ikea has announced plans to open a shop in Norwich that is one-tenth the size of its usual warehouses.
The trial store, which will be the first of a new format for the Swedish furniture chain in the UK, will be located on a retail park outside Norwich city centre and will offer click-and-collect services, product test and in-store expertise, as well as a café.
It follows worldwide trials of smaller stores in Spain, Norway and Finland.
The move is designed to appeal to customers in parts of the UK which are not served by the firm’s 18-store out-of town warehouse portfolio.
