Modular housing firm Ilke Homes has secured an approval from Hastings council to build 140 new homes in Harrow Lane, Hastings.
The scheme will comprise 70 shared ownership homes and 70 affordable rent homes.
The move comes amid Ilke’s expansion in the South East, where the company is already committed to delivering more than 1,200 homes across six sites.
The 12.4-acre site in Hastings will be delivered by Ilke as part of its turnkey offering, meaning it acquires the land, gains planning permission, manufactures the homes and develops the site. Turnkey projects such as this give councils and potential occupiers confidence that sites will be delivered on time and to budget.
The homes, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms, will be manufactured offsite at Ilke’s factory in North Yorkshire. Completion is expected in spring 2024.
Matt Suggit, development director at Ilke, said: “Our accredited modular methods of delivery will ensure that these homes help Hastings Borough Council meet carbon reduction targets and deliver much-needed affordable housing.”
