Imperial College London is hoping to secure planning permission for a 936,468 sq ft campus at the former BBC Wood Lane, W12 site.
The university has devised a White City masterplan, designed by architects Aukett Fitzroy Robinson and PLP Architecture. It comprises a biomedical research centre, offices, homes, a hotel, shops and a public square.
John Anderson, project director for Imperial West, said: “We have consulted widely with the planning authorities and local residents and this process has helped inform the basis of our planning application.”
He added: “In particular, we have refined the designs of the residential building, the academic health building and the office building to respond positively to residents’ comments as well as to the requirements of the planning authorities and Greater London Authority”.
Hammersmith & Fulham council will now consider the proposals.
Imperial already has seven campuses in London, including one based on the Hammersmith hospital site, which is 500 metres from the Imperial West site on Wood Lane.
