Isaacs goes it alone

Paul Isaacs has left Cathedral Group to set up his own development and investment company. Isaacs, who took over as managing director in July 2002 – following his departure from Frogmore to manage the deconsolidation of Cathedral from Mount Anvil – has set up Rosemead Securities, which will concentrate on mixed-use brownfield schemes.

Flats for Bolton bleach works

David McLean Homes has received planning permission for a 156-unit residential scheme on a former bleach works in Bolton, Lancashire. The developer has been exempted from providing affordable housing on the site, at Eagley Brook Way, because of the significant remediation work involved. It has also agreed to provide contributions to public art, local highway network improvements, public open spaces and education facilities.

Hospital rehabilitation

Defence Estates is to sell the former Princess Mary Hospital – which forms part of RAF Halton, close to Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire – as housing land. The 49.1-acre site, which this year won consent for 400 homes, a convenience store and a multiple sclerosis centre, is being marketed through Atisreal.

Morley hires resi manager

Neil Gardiner, head of residential investment management at Schroder Investment Management, has left to become Morley’s first dedicated residential property fund manager. Neil will be fund manager for the Beach Student Accommodation Fund, the Tri Investment Residential Fund and the Capital Residential Fund.
